How To Treat Cellulite

Cellulite is something that many people, mainly women, have to endure. It appears from nowhere and leaves people feeling low on confidence but it does not have to be that way.

While there is no immediate cure for cellulite, there are some things that can be done to minimise its appearance.

The treatments below can help to make a difference.

Topical Treatments

There are many different types of anti-cellulite cream available and they all claim to reduce cellulite. They contain a number of different ingredients that can promote the breakdown of fat.

Many of the creams work by dehydrating the cells and that reduces the look and appearance of cellulite. These have to be used daily but they can make a significant difference.

Shockwave Therapy

This is the same kind of treatment that is used to treat kidney stones. It is a treatment that is non-invasive and is given to patients twice a week for six weeks or more.

Around two to six months after treatment, the results can be seen. This is a new treatment and so, it is open to more research.

Again, this is a non-invasive treatment that freezes and kills the fat cells. Once they have been killed, the body will remove them naturally.

Commonly, this treatment is used for body shaping but the removal of fat can help to reduce the appearance of cellulite. It can take around three treatments as well as three to four months to see the results.

Laser Treatments

This is another new form of treatment that can be effective, especially when it is used side massage and cellulite cream.

It can cause the fat to become liquefied, cut connective tissue and boost collagen growth, helping to tighten the skin.

The results can last for six months but some forms of laser treatments are invasive.

Cellulaze is one form of treatment where the area is numbed and then the specialist puts a laser under the skin whereby it shoots heat in three directions, helping to improve the appearance of cellulite.

Cellulite Massage

Through treating the specific area with massage, it is believed that it can enhance blood flow and reduce the build-up of fluid. This can lead to better-looking hips and buttocks.

Endermologie is a mechanical massage where a machine works with a low pressure to knead the skin between two spinning rollers. The aim is to deliver a deep massage that will break up the connective tissue that causes dimples.

Studies have found that massage can work but the results are short-lived and so, there is no long-term benefit.

While specialists are worried that the kneading could actually loosen the skin, leading to problems in the future.

So, there are a number of different treatments available to choose from.

There are those that are relatively low in cost and those that can cost significantly more. If the aim is to achieve a better look then you can choose from cellulite cream right through to invasive laser treatment.
