The Italians have it better than most - food, weather, shoes, women. Alessia Fabiani, the presenter of Italy's Champions League coverage, is a dramatic case in point. Far be it from us to attack our home-grown talent, but as unfortunate residents of a chilly island just off the continent, we are denied this calibre of pundit. Let's face it - Ms Fabiani is to Gaby Logan what a Milanese pavement cafe is to a Wetherspoons' beer garden.

It took Gavin Denison, a beady-eyed Maxim reader with inexplicable access to Italian TV, to bring her to our attention. We're now hoping that Alessia's ambitious nature could mean she makes her way over to our screens. 'I'm hyperactive. I can't stay still,' she says. 'I'm constantly re-inventing myself.'
