There are certain phrases that, when they spill from the lips of a woman as beautiful as Jill de Jong, can send any male into a trembling fit. Most of these phrases would involve whipped cream or handcuffs, but the one she utters to Maxim has no link with the bedroom: 'I love football.'
This, presumably, would be loving football in the girlie 'doesn't Beckham have nice legs' sense. 'No,' says Jill. 'I like to play - I like the game and the technique. I prefer being a striker on the right side of attack. I cut inside the box, run onto the ball and put it in the bottom corner.'
As the new face, body and attitude of video game pin-up Lara Croft, Jill de Jong is every bit the same fearless type as her digital alter-ego. When not thrashing blokes at the beautiful game, she's a self-confessed tomboy, turning up at computer game fairs and scaring the living daylights out of joystick-twiddling nerds. 'I'm six-foot-tall, but the boots make me taller. And I've got two guns.
Men are intimidated, but I think they like to be dominated.'
And what does she think of the figure-hugging outfit? 'The first thing they did when I got the job was take me to the tailor, and I got measured up for this super-tight costume. Girls have told me that the suits have been terrible. With this one it's just the top - but it does get hot. Occasionally I get a river of sweat running down. It's like my boobs are peeing.'
